RESEARCH

Dr. Sanchez-Reilly is an associate professor, board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Hospice/Palliative Medicine. Dr. Sanchez-Reilly is the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program Director at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She has earned a national reputation in Palliative Care Education and End-of-Life Communication Research. Dr. Sanchez-Reilly is the Director of the NIA-funded UT Medical Students Teaching in Aging Research Program (MSTAR), influencing several medical students to pursue a Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine related career. She has mentored many learners to become faculty members and has been influential in expanding Palliative Care clinical services locally. Moreover, Dr. Sanchez-Reilly leads the Palliative Care Programs at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS), and serves as the associate director for education and evaluation for the San Antonio VA Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC).
