Evaluating Resilience in Hispanic Older Adults

Cardiometabolic Dysregulation as a Driver of Changes in Hemodynamic Resilience and accelerated Aging Among Hispanic Adults

Purpose of this study

This is a pilot study to evaluate the impacts of cardiometabolic health among Hispanic adults. Our goal is to determine new ways to identify people who are at highest risk of fast aging and developing heart disease later in life.

You may qualify if you are:

  • Over 45 years old
  • Hispanic
  • Able to walk without assistive devices for 3 minutes

You may NOT qualify if you:

  • Have heart disease or high blood pressure
  • On insulin

Study Procedures

  • Medical history
  • Wear a device measuring blood pressure and heart rate during activities of daily living (such as walking)
  • X-ray for body composition
  • Blood test

Compensation
