Personal Statement:
Dr. Cortes is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology at the University of Texas Health, San Antonio. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. She is a member of the Endocrine Society (TES), American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE), American Diabetes Association (ADA) and Obesity Society. In her clinic at the MARC, she sees endocrine disorders involving bone, pancreas, pituitary, adrenal and thyroid gland. She also sees patients as part of the academic teaching mission of UTH in the Endocrine teaching clinic at the Texas Diabetes Institute of University Hospital Systems. She has a special interest and training in transgender and obesity medicine. She is active in teaching fellows, residents and students.
