As the population in the U.S. continues to age, conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity are becoming more common, especially in South Texas. These conditions can increase the risk of heart problems later in life, but it is not always clear who is at highest risk. The purpose of this study is to better understand how aging, type 2 diabetes, and obesity affect heart health, and how simple exercise-related changes in blood pressure and heart rate may help identify future risk of heart disease.
